Day 9 - Knock Sensor

The purpose of a knock sensor is to monitor the performance of the engine. It senses knocks in the engine. It is located in the engine block, cylinder head or intake manifold. Inside the knock sensor, there is a piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element generates a voltage when pressure or vibration  is applied.
When knock occurs, the voltage output increases.
